Food Service Experience
I worked as a waitress (Dining Room Captain) at St. John's Meadows Independent Living for three years in the Briarwood and Hawthorne dining rooms, providing residents with a high quality dining experience. Responsibilities included set-up and tear-down of dining rooms, food preparation, informing residents of daily menu features, assisting residents with meal selection, and communicating residents' special dietary needs to culinary staff. Additionally, I trained new employees and had the opportunity to act as interim Closing Supervisor for three weeks. This included the responsibility of printing and reviewing the sales report, counting the cash drawer, and locking up dining area.
Catering at Messiah College
I worked for Messiah College's Catering department for all four years of college and was promoted to a student management position my junior year. Responsibilities included set up for small and large events, food preparation, training new employees, serving events at the college President's residence and providing hospitality for speakers and bands who visited the college.
